
Saleh AlMutlaqMD, FRCSC
Dr. Saleh AlMutlaq is a distinguished orthopaedic surgeon originally from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He earned his medical degree from King Saud University, followed by a comprehensive residency in orthopaedic surgery at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center in Riyadh. Seeking to enhance his expertise, Dr. AlMutlaq pursued a fellowship in Orthopedic Arthroplasty at the esteemed Montreal General Hospital in Montreal, Canada, during the 2022-2023 academic year.
Upon returning to Saudi Arabia, Dr. AlMutlaq dedicated a year to full-time lower limb reconstruction, with a particular focus on advanced hip and knee surgical techniques. During this period, he innovated a local protocol for knee arthroplasty performed as day surgery, significantly improving the surgical process and patient outcomes in the region.
Currently, Dr. AlMutlaq has joined the UTOSM team for a 12-month tenure, where he is committed to refining his skills in knee, hip, and shoulder arthroscopy. His primary interests lie in knee reconstruction, multi-ligament injuries, and hip arthroscopy. Following his fellowships in Sports Medicine at UofT, Dr. AlMutlaq intends to return to Saudi Arabia to further his career as an accomplished orthopaedic surgeon, with the aim of advancing the practice of lower limb reconstruction and Sport Medicine.
In addition to his professional endeavours, Dr. AlMutlaq is an avid sports enthusiast, enjoying both playing and watching soccer, basketball, and tennis.
