
Dr. Ian MacNiven MD, FRCSC, Dip. CASEMOrthopaedic Sports Surgeon
Dr. Ian MacNiven grew up in Hanover, Ontario prior to completing his Honours Life Sciences degree from Queen’s University at Kingston. He graduated with Honours from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland prior to completing his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at the University of Ottawa. After achieving his FRCSC he travelled to Toronto for a fellowship in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy.
Dr. MacNiven is an active member of and examiner for the Canadian Academy of Sports and Exercise Medicine and has been involved in team coverage of the Mississauga Steelheads (OHL), the University of Washington Huskies Football Team, and the Pan American games.
Dr. MacNiven is currently a Upper Extremity Reconstruction Clinical Associate at the University of Washington in Seattle, USA. He has a special interest in shoulder and knee arthroscopy, upper limb primary and revision arthroplasty, and cartilage disorders of the knee, hip and shoulder.
