Marcel BetschMD - UHN Upper Extremity Fellow associated with UTOSM

Marcel grew up in a small town outside Stuttgart, Germany. After graduation from Highschool, he went to medical school at the Eberhard Karls University, Tuebingen, Germany. Following medical school, Marcel commenced his residency in Orthopaedics at the Heinrich Heine University, Duesseldorf, Germany. In 2012 he moved to Portland, Oregon, USA to work as a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Prof. Brian Johnstone. Back in Germany, he completed his residency at the University Hospital RWTH Aachen, Germany, before he began a fellowship in total joint reconstruction in Aachen. Marcel is looking forward to develop expertise in shoulder, knee and hip arthroscopy, as well as to further pursue his interest in research. Upon completion of his fellowship, Marcel will return to Germany, where he will continue to work as an academic surgeon.
