UTOSM at AAOS in Las Vegas March 2019
At the AAOS meeting in Las Vegas, our UTOSM group received recognition for the following achievements:
Ryan Paul, Danny Whelan and Ryan Khan won the Orthopaedic Video Theater Award as the best Sports Medicine video for “Fixation of Fibular Head Avulsion Fractures with a Proximal Tibiofibular Screw”.
Matt Rubacha and Graeme Hoit received honourable mention in the best poster category.
As you all know, the Sports Medicine presence from the US at the AAOS meeting is huge, so this is a tremendous accomplishment for our group.

UTOSM fellow Dr. Tom Zochowski wins best poster award from AAC at this years COA
Congrats to Dr. Tom Zochowski for winning best poster as awarded by the Arthroscopy Association of Canada for his project
“Determining the Patient Acceptable Symptomatic State for Patients Undergoing Arthroscopic Partial Meniscectomy in the Knee.”

A big congratulations to Aileen Davis and the UTOSM team who are collaborating on a research project related to decreasing the risk of arthritis in patients who have had ACL surgeries
Dr Tim Dwyer awarded Ph.D.
Tim Dwyer was successful in the defense of his PhD Thesis, “Designing an Assessment Program for the Competency-based Era”.
Tim did an excellent performance during his defense and demonstrated great poise and professionalism as he addressed the questions from:

The successful completion of a PhD in any surgical discipline is never an easy process and one which requires incredible dedication.
