Knee
MCL Tear
The medial collateral ligament (MCL) connects the bones of the thigh to the lower leg and prevents inward bending of the knee. When torn, the knee becomes swollen and tender, and range of motion is impaired. These tears are classified as grade 1, 2 or 3, depending on severity of pain.
